Tomato Time!

This might be the earliest we’ve gotten our tomatoes to ripen! The tough thing about tomatoes is it seems like you have to throw out the same amount of fruit that you can keep. One small blemish, ruins the whole tomato. This season we are fighting with the caterpillars. There is a very small moth that likes to get into the very top of the fruits, and a larger butterfly caterpillar that will burrow all in it. One way to tell the difference, whether you are dealing with a butterfly verses moth caterpillar is that when they pupate, the moth covers itself in silk. The tomatoes we are growing are a heat tolerant variety called Grand Marshall. I just ordered more seed to summer plant and have fall tomatoes.
